Clinical Elective Program

The University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine offers clinical electives for medical students from our affiliated universities. All visiting clinical elective students must be in their final year of study in medical school during all rotations at UTokyo.

Please note that our office is not responsible for arranging clinical training or research opportunities for visiting graduate students or health professionals.

Students from affiliated universities: To begin the application process, please ask the elective coordinator at your university to inform us when you have been nominated for study at UTokyo. Questions may be addressed to oiaa+electives@m.u-tokyo.ac.jp.

Students from unaffiliated universities: Because of capacity constraints, the UTokyo Faculty of Medicine is not currently accepting clinical elective applications from students enrolled at unaffiliated universities. Please monitor this webpage for any changes in this policy.

Notes

• A complete immunization record must be submitted at least sixty days before the start of a clinical rotation.
• Our office is unable to serve as, or find, a guarantor on visa applications for visiting students.
